Our Parrot Surrender & Bequeath Process

As many people know parrot can live for a very long time and this often results in many birds being handed into rescue.

We offer an understanding, confidential and supportive programme to ensure that you are comfortable with rehoming you bird.

There could be a number of reasons for you handing your bird in; a marriage breakdown, a family death, a new job or baby. Maybe you just want to ensure their protection and safety when you are no longer here. What ever the reason we understand and we are here to help.  

We will ensure that your bird is placed in a home from home environment while we carry out the following;

• A Full Health Check

• Full Disease Testing To Include PBFD. Polyoma Virus, Borna Virus & Chlamydiosis

• A Microchip (Transferable To Adopter)

• Assessment on its suitability for future placements.

We assess if each bird is tolerant towards children, other birds, other animals, men or woman and we work to place each bird with a home that is right for the bird itself. Some birds may need an experienced handler so to avoid many behavioural problems. We have many vigorous checks to ensure that your home is right for placement.
